April Newsletter

Melbourne. Our gem.

Music Victoria is a bunch of awesome people devoted to the Melbourne live music scene and keeping it healthy, innovative and diverse. Last week, Music Victoria released the results from the 2012 Live Music Census. You can check it out here.

There are lots of awesome facts and figures that would make any Melbournian proud, but perhaps the best bit is the following: “Our typical live music fan is not - and never has been - a fan of music reality shows.”

But what I want to tell you about is the shiny new live music scene that is bubbling away in Sydney. So if you’re planning a visit or if you’re from Sydney, check out these projects celebrating and supporting the independent musician and the independent music scene: The Smallest GigHigh Tea and The Newsagency. But there ain’t no Tram Sessions!

And finally - in music news carefully selected by me - this just in from Bob! The times they are a’ changin’…
